NMCA 2011 Caravan #2: Route 66 Auto Museum

Meet at 8:30 in the Smith’s grocery store parking lot at Central and Tramway:

The caravan will depart at 9:30. We’ll get on Central Avenue (Route 66) and head east. We’ll stick with Route 66 for the first 30 miles, driving through the towns of Edgewood and Moriarty and rejoining I-40 at Exit 197. We’ll go on I-40 the rest of the way to Santa Rosa, stopping at the rest stop at Exit 251 for a photo opportunity. At Santa Rosa, we’ll take the first exit in town and drive through Santa Rosa on Route 66. We’ll arrive at the museum at 12:00.

We’ll spend roughly an hour at the museum, leaving at 1:00. Just a few hundred yards back up the road is the Route 66 Restaurant where we will have a quick lunch before heading back to Albuquerque on I-40. The caravan officially ends when we get back to Exit 167, the Tramway exit in Albuquerque.
